Description
I visited Japan for the first time at the age of 25 the summer between my junior and senior year at university, where I was pursuing a BA in Psychology. I was so impressed with the country that I enrolled in Japanese language courses my senior year with the intent of moving there after graduation and teaching English.
Upon completing my undergraduate studies, I seized on the opportunity to teach English in Japan, coupled with an unwavering commitment to master the Japanese language. Each day in Japan became a stepping stone to acquiring the language via studies and experience.
My dedication and perseverance led me to achieve the highest level of certification in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, attaining Level 1 (日本語能力検定試験). Subsequently, I obtained a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MAT TESOL), but wanted to even further my academic studies in Japanese and decided to pursue a Master of Arts in Advanced Japanese Studies and chose a distance learning program with the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom.
For two decades, I immersed myself in Japanese culture, honing my language skills to an advanced level. Additionally, I hold accreditation from the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters, specializing as a one-way translator from Japanese to English.
I am able to proficiently translate Japanese documents into English, and I have a team of native Japanese speaker/translators that can do the same for English documents into Japanese.
